PP & Jenn Are National Champs...Updated...

du-nationals-logo.gifUSAT Duathlon Nationals - Patrick Parish won Duathlon AG Nationals in 2012. Yesterday, he won the pro division of that race, which once again, was staged in Tucson, Arizona. Unable to truly shake off his closest adversary throughout the entire race--Matthew Sheeks, who won the overall amateur title at the 2009 Duathlon World Championships...

before getting his (Matt's) pro license in 2010--PP's eventual margin of victory was only six seconds. This was the 28th victory of Parish's impressive multisport career. PRO RESULTS

jenn-and-older-guy.gifAnd as proud as the MTN Guys are of Patrick, who has won several national titles, we are even more proudful of Jenn Scudiero, who WON her first national crown in the desert yesterday. Her time was 1:41:41, which placed her 2nd behind pro winner Kathy Rakel of Tucson, and 14 seconds ahead of amateur runner-up Brynje Enderle of Portland, Oregon. Your guess as to how to pronounce Enderle's first name is as good as ours. "Brin-ya," maybe? Maybe the "J" is silent. Who knows?

We digress.

A dedicated duathlete-ess, Scudiero has raced in 10 run-bike-runs this season, which is probably more often than any ofther US multisporter. She has won seven of those races and, along with Suzie Fox, will be given serious consideration for USAT Amateur Duathlete of the Year. How cool is that!

Congrats, Jenn. You were awesome!

ALSO: Becida's Jasmine Carlson also rocked in Tucson, finishing 3rd in her 25-29W AG, which placed her 17th overall. We've never been to Becida, have you? There's a place there called "Toasty Beaver's Sports Bar." Seriously.

AUSTIN 70.3 STUFF - Ruth Brennan Morrey completed her 2013 tri-racing season with a 6th place finish at Austin 70.3 today (Sunday). Her time was 4:24:09 and she outran the women's field with a 1:19:50 run split. Also racing was 2013 Land Between the Lakes winner Rebecca Cota, who placed 6th in her 25-29W division. Her time was 5:03:21.

Now, you do not want to misinform people, do you?
The "Toasty Beaver's Sports Bar" is in Bemidji, MN. Becida (about 17 mi southeast of Bemidji) has it's Becida Bar and Grill.
But talking about Jasmin, you might want to check out The Cabin Coffeehouse and Cafe in Bemidji! https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Cabin-Coffee-House-Cafe-of-Bemidji/134590186710045

For the record: the other person in this pic is Jenn's grandpa, Gene Jereczek, who has been an all star fan - making almost all of her races this year.
