Rockin' New Bike Course for BOUS

flyoverLots of exciting things are happening on Saint Paul's Phalen Corridor. A few years back The Phalen Corridor Initiative won the two top Environmental Protection Agency awards for urban redevelopment. Just last week Urban Organics, an innovative indoor aquaponics farm introduced itself to the community from its new home in the former Hamm's Brewery Building. Soon, Flat Earth Brewery will be serving up its own growlers full of suds brewed with the same "sky blue waters" gurgling up from the underground spring beneath the very same building.

All pretty cool stuff, considering that all this redevelopment is a result of collaboration between the City and over 60 other community organizations, working together.

All of which pales in comparison to the value of the Phalen Corridor's brand-spankin' new bike course for the Best of the U.S. Championship and Sprint races...

You'll ride out one side of the boulevard, make a nice wide turnaround on Jackson Street just past the historic Roundhouse, crossing the bridge and re-entering the corridor via the on-ramp, and return to Lake Phalen Park entrance on the other side of the boulevard, where your fan club gets to cheer wildly as you u-turn and go out and do it again. The loop is 7.78 miles; at its narrowest you'll have one full traffic lane plus bike shoulder on which to do your thing. Much of it is divided, with two full lanes.

Check it out in a video flyover at the new website devoted just to the Sprint: BestoftheUSSprint.com

Then go ahead and register--you'll have a blast!
