PRESS RELEASE - We know how much time, effort and dedication athletes put into training for a multi-sport event. After the recent cancellation announcement of the 2015 Minneapolis Duathlon by Team Ortho we invite the athletes impacted by this cancelation and all area duathletes to join us. Life Time Tri Maple Grove now offers a short-course Duathlon on Saturday, August 22 hosted at Weaver Lake Park in Maple Grove....

Athletes participating in the individual or relay run/bike/run event will race a 3.1-mile run, 11-mile bike and 3.1-mile run, starting at 8:00 a.m. The bike offers a rolling, scenic course along country roads of Plymouth, Corcoran and Maple Grove, and the run weaves around the surrounding charming neighborhoods, finishing in the heart of Weaver Lake Park with cheering spectators surrounding the entire park.   

Duathletes will receive a lifestyle race shirt, cinch bag, commemorative finisher’s medal, post race food, and will be professionally timed with live results and free race photo downloads courtesy of Athlinks. Awards will be presented to the top three male and female individual finishers along with awards for the top relay team.       

Online registration is currently open and will close Wednesday, August 19. On-site registrations will be accepted Friday, August 21.

We look forward to hosting all athletes and offering the opportunity to recognize the accomplishment of a Triathlon or Duathlon before summer’s end.
