IRONMAN WISCONSIN STUFF...

* DIVISIONAL DOMINATION - Minnesota girls took three of the Top 5 45-49 spots Sunday at the 10th edition of Ironman Wisconsin. Check it out:

1. Tara Scheetz (IL) - 11:24:24; 2. Susan Dziuban (IL) - 11:27:01; 3. JULIA LYNG (Burnsville, MN) - 11:30:14; 4. SUZANN MOUW (White Bear Lake, MN) - 11:35:37; 5. JULIA WEISBECKER (Mendota Heights, MN) - 11:39:14.

Very cool!

* ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOR - Long Lake's JAN GUENTHER, 52, finished 3rd among female amateurs in Madison. Her time was brilliant - 10:42:04 - and her margin of victory over the next fastest master (40+) was a flabby 22:52. Her margin over her nearest divisional rival, Canada's

Edie Fisher, who is her country's premier 50-plusser, was 47:30.

* MOO MEDALISTS - Jan wasn't the only Minnesotan who podiumed yesterday. Edina's JAY ADAMS placed 3rd (10:32:06) in the 45-49M category, Eden Prairie's SCOTT ROSS finished 3rd (10:59:05) in the 505-54M group, and bagpiper / viola-ist / total hoot BETH GUCK of Andover, took 2nd (12:44:51) among 55-59 women.

* SUB-12 SORORITY - Guenther, Lyng, Mouw and Weisbecker were not the only Loon State girls to crack the 12-hour mark on Sunday. So did Duluth's ANN SUDOH (5th 40-44W - 11:17:30), Cottage Grove's AMY HITE (11:25:20), Rochesterarian DIANA KOEPP (11:39:40 - photo R), St. Paul's TRACIE KENT (11:47:17), Hopkin's LYDIA NOVOTNY (11:48:09) and KIM AULT (11:52:28) of Plymouth.

* LAST, BUT NOT LEAST - MTN's DARIN WIENEKE made the 140.6 mile Trek to the Capitol last weekend, requiring 13:19:27 to do so. We haven't spoken to him yet, but suspect that he's tired and sore, albeit in a good way.

* WALLY'S WORLD - Wally Milbrath of the Wild River Tri Club, a group of zany, fun-loving, highly-medicated dudes and dudettes, some of whom are cross-dressers (Not that there's anything wrong with that!), sent us some cool photos. Even though the shots were digital, they kinda smelled like beer. FYI - #779 below is the lovely Suzann Mouw (4th 45-49W).
