Smiling Like A Little Kid With A Mustache....

packED. After Dan Hedgecock won the US Elite Duathlon Championship last weekend, we asked Dan's biggest fan, his totally cool dad, Troy, who watched the event, to write a race report from the standpoint

race, because she had a strong one, and she is fun to watch! I'm just not a good enough writer to talk about her and David, as well as Dan's great race. I also heard from a good source that some of the other female pro's voted Claire the most fun to race with - thought you would appreciate that. I feel like I had to mention the pro's volunteering for the kids race - literally brought tears to my eyes watching them with the kids. As great as it was to hedgesee Dan win the race, it was also pretty special seeing the generous spirit of the pro's, so cool! I'm not over emphasizing when I say Dan was smiling the entire race. The start photo (above) I sent you really tells the story, he looked just like that every time I saw him. Part of the humor in his retro/mustache look is the fact he also had the headband on upside down, classic! If it's too long I understand, I'm sure Dan will do something fun. I know it's not my business, but maybe use his first, if you use mine at all? I wouldn't want to steal any of his thunder! And I did see the shot in Birmingham News (right), awesome! I almost had that shot, except I was running to the finish and totally took a digger on wet grass. - TH
