Race Coverage

Location, Location, Location...

mugGraniteman Coverage - The original Graniteman Triathlon was staged in the town of Rockville south of St. Cloud. It had a five-year history at that venue before relocating to its present site near Clearwater.

Bryan Perrott, who swims like a banshee, rounded out the men's podium. Bryan, from Northfield, came to our attention in 2012 when he placed 8th (4th amateur) against a great field at Copper Creek in Iowa. jody

As at Graniteman-St. Cloud last month, junior girls rocked socks. Three of them, starting with 2012 Minnesota JOY Greta Danielson, who appears to be the current frontrunner to receive the 2013 version of that award, who placed 2nd, cracked the Top 10. Her younger but taller sister Paige, 16, who was the number one junior at G-Man-St. Cloud, placed 6th and Mata, pronounced "May-tah," Agre placed 9th.

Finishing third in the women's contest was Jody Mullet. (Photo R) This was Jody's 3rd podium finish of the season.

Three-hundred-ish athletes registered for Saturday's race, which like all G-Man events, was outstanding on every level. That's because Bill and Heather and Austin and the red-haired woman with the glasses whose name always escapes us, and the rest of the Graniteman Events crew are awesome. RESULTS
