2012 Leadville Trail 100 Qualifiers...

Life Time Fitness, Inc, The Healthy Way of Life Company, announced Monday the qualifying events for riders interested in participating in the 2012 Leadville Trail 100 (LT100). Registration is officially open for the Leadville Race Series qualifiers.

The LT100 lottery will close on January 31, 2012. Those who participate in the qualifiers will have their names entered into the lottery draw for the LT100, or may automatically qualify based on their performance at the qualifying events. Every qualifying event will provide 70-100 riders with a qualification to participate in the 2012 LT100.

The 2012 LT100 mountain bike qualifying events locations and dates include the 2011 qualifiers:

June 17: Wilmington Whiteface 100, Wilmington, NY.

July 22: Tahoe Trail, Tahoe, Calif.

September 15: Alpine Odyssey, Crested Butte, Colo.

And the new locations:

April 21: Austin 100 (name subject to change), Austin, Tex.

June 2: Barn Burner 104, Flagstaff, Ari.

July 14: Silver Rush 50, Leadville, Colo.

The expansion of the Leadville Race Series is an exciting step for Leadville enthusiasts, and will provide the opportunity to ride in venues including the Adirondacks, to the Sierra Nevadas, and the Rocky Mountains, and will increase the level of competition at the 2012 LT100.

To claim an LT100 qualifying slot:

The 70-100 qualifying slots will be filled and announced at the awards ceremony. Winners must be present at the awards ceremony to claim their slot, which requires an immediate non-refundable entry fee payment to the LT100. 50% of the available slots will be based on an individual
