BREWHOUSE TRIATHLON ANNOUNCEMENT:

It is official!

The 27th annual Brewhouse Triathlon, after 26 years at Pike Lake, will:

1. Move to the new world class Island Lake Triathlon venue (photo L) just NE of Duluth. Clean water, smooth roads, flat and fast run!

2. Be held on Saturday Aug. 3rd (not Sunday)

3. Will include a fun Brewfest the evening of the race at Island Lake (live music, hand crafted ales, song and stories) ....

4. Long Course will be official Olympic distance (1.5 km swim, 40k bike, 10k run). Short course will be official Sprint distnce (750m, 20K, 5K)

5. Rootbeer kids races will also be held on Saturday at 1pm.

ATTENTION RACE DIRECTORS - MTN would likeour state's triathlon directors to take a close look at the 2013 schedule. Lots of lopsided weekends. We know that most of you have your dates locked in. For those with scheduling flexibility, consider the following:

* On Saturday, August 3, there are currently four adult tris on the calendar - Brewhouse, Graniteman-Big Lake, Lakefront Days and Minnewaska. There are NO races scheduled for Sunday, August 4.

August 3-4 is one of several lopsided weekends:

- May 4-5: Two races on the 4th. No races on the 5th.

- May 11-12: Two races on the 11th. No races on the 12th.

- May 25-26: One race on the 25th. No races on the 26th.

- June 15-16: Four races on the 15th. NO races on the 16th.

- July 6-7: No races

- July 13-14: Four races on the 13th. NO races on the 14th.

- August 10 & 17: Only Northland races are scheduled for these dates (Northwoods -8/10-which has filled;
