Race Preview - The YWCA Women's Triathlon, a glorious demonstration of the Y's slogan: "The Power to Soar," will celebrate it's 5th birthday next Sunday at Lake Nokomis. More than 1000 women will participate.
Though newbies and recreational athletes are the event's Biggest, Brightest Stars, we have not seen an entire list of participants. If we had, we would, in keeping with the tri's focus, have selected some of those folks to write about here. We would have raided their FB pages and given you a peek into their lives, ...

Pointe to La Pointe Swim Race..

RACE PREVIEW - You stand on the beach in Bayfield, WI near the pier where the ferry shuttles people and cars daily the 2.1 miles to LaPointe on Madeline Island. In a triathlons, there is a triangle or rectangle marked out with orange bouys to define the course and give athletes some perspective on the actual distance of the race. In this race, it is just the opposite as the course stretches...

THIS JUST IN! - MTN has just learned that David Thompson won the Giant Eagle 5150 Triathlon in Columbus, Ohio on Sunday, beating runner-up Kaleb VanOrt by 1:04 over the Olympicesque distances.

Race Preview - One of the plethora of great things about the Brewhouse Triathlon, which will launch into it's 2nd quarter-century of racing next Sunday, is that Rod Raymond will be there.
But then again, he has to be, seeing that he is the founder/co-race-director/Head Cheese, and all....

Waseca IV Preview - Some athlete's claim that victory has a "scent,"and that they can detect it prior to an event they are destined to win.
According to a guy who calls himself a Quantum Smellocologist, Victory Aroma is not only delectable by those who will be overall champions. It is also perceptible to those who will win their AGs, or "win" a PR, or win a personal battle with a particular adversary, or whatever defines winning for them.
Cool.
Of course, some skeptics decry the veracity of the VST (Victory Scent Theory), claiming that such a phenomenon simply does not exist. Others believe that impending victory has a feel, not a scent, and that said feeling is delectable in either...
