As of last Sunday’s Fall Classic Duathlon, Minnesota’s multisport season has come to a close, which can only mean one thing… It’s now Minnesota Multisport Honors (MMH)season! In 2022, Matt and Damon gave their input. In 2023, Mav and Goose took over. In 2024, Simon and Garfunkel offered their opinions. And this year, we are excited to announce that MMH nominees, winners, and Team Minnesota members will be selected by
Bonnie and, me, Clyde.
The MMH committee’s goal has always been to showcase the strength, speed, and depth of Minnesota’s talented pool of multisport athletes. We ultimately aim to celebrate, support, grow, and enhance Minnesota’s amazing multisport community. But, as in any situation where selections are made, there can be inherent disagreement among ourselves and between members of the triathlon community for who MMH nominees and winners should be. And that’s ok.
This year we plan to nominate athletes for 11 categories: Triathlete of the Year (F/M), Performance of the Year (F/M), Junior of the Year (coed), Master of the Year (F/M), Grand Master of the Year (F/M), and Most Improved (F/M). We will also announce Team Minnesota,a list of the athletes with the overall most impressive and competitive race resumes fromthis season.
To earn a nomination for any category and/or a spot on Team MN, athletes, as historically has been the standard, must have turned in 3 or more outstanding results in 2025. (We are seriously considering requiring only two outstanding performances this year.) Athletes must be a Minnesota resident regardless of whether they primarily race in state or out of state. Athletes from neighboring states (ND, SD, IA, and WI) are also considered IF they do the majority of their racing in Minnesota (a good example of this is Fargo’s AJ Manning, a perennial Team MN member when he is racing and injury-free).
