An Intimate Event...

Event Coverage - The first of this year's OptumHealth Performance Indoor Tris (Jan. 22) was an intimate event, drawing 14 participants, all of whom made friends, got a great workout and later went out for pancakes.

The second OHP event, which was staged at their Eden Prairie facility last Sunday, was even intimater. Nine people registered and seven eventually participated. Our guess is that they all enjoyed the experience even though Coach Kris, who is a total hoot!, was in San Diego doing unspecified, yet vitally important stuff.

Here are the results and some Facebooky stuff about some of the participants.

ERIC BOYUM - 500 yd swim (7:45) - 5-mile Bike (18:00) - 2 mile run (15:14) - 40:59 -

* Eric likes wine and basketball. He speaks Spanish, but not all the time. He plays golf sometimes and his favorite TV show is "South Park," which is really irreverent and funny....

FERNANDO ARRIETA - 500 yd swim (7:40) - 5-mile Bike (18:35) - 2 mile run (16:04) - 42:19

* Fernando is originally from Lima, Peru, which is south of here. Like Eric, he speaks Spanish, albeit much more often. One of his favorite bands is called "Resplandor."

MELISSA GREGORY - 500 yd swim (7:43) - 5-mile Bike (20:08) - 2 mile run (15:32) - 43:23

* Melissa has great hair and likes to shoot guns. She and Kortney Haag are Facebook friends. (Photo above L)

LAURA NILAN - 500 yd swim (7:36) - 5-mile bike (18:07) - 2 mile run (19:40) - 45:23

* We're not sure, but we think that Laura wears glasses.

JEREMIAH COLLINS - 500 yd swim (19:48) - 5-mile Bike (20:55) - 2 mile run (15:42) - 56:35

* Jeremiah loves "Burger Time" burgers and has muscular calves.

MAGGIE SONNEK - 500 yd swim (7:53) - 5-mile Bike - (29:39) - 2 mile run (23:29) - 1:01:01

* Maggie often shops at Target and adores Punch Neopolitan Pizza. She's been to Puerto Rico and has a baby named James who is totally cute. (photo R)

CHRISTINE FLELSTAD - 500 yd swim (18:59) -5-mile Bike (28:22) - 2 mile run (20:18) - 1:07:39

* We met Christine at the first OHP event. She was very nice and wore expensive clothing.
