6th Annual FALLS DUATHLON - Diane Hankee and Julie Hull threw down on the competition in Cannon Falls last Saturday. They finished one-two overall and set records in the process. For Hankee, it was her 20th multi win since relocating to Minnesota from Saskatewan a decade ago. Her time was 1:11:41, which lowered Jenn Scudiero's year-old race record by fifty-one seconds.

Hull, 42, turned in a 1:14:37 which bested her PR here by 1:01 and took down Taryn Dahl's MCR by 6:21. FYI, Julie shared the 40-44 winner's circle with her husband, Erik, who is a totally cool guy.

This year's men's field was strong and was won in a quasi-upset by Joe Johnson, who outraced pro CR holder Devon Palmer (2nd), and amateur course record holder, Brian Sames (3rd). Approximately 200 athletes participated. RESULTS

debut at this Large (3500 participants) and prestigious event. DKT, who has cracked the Top 10 here at least three times ($65,000 prize purse distributed to the Top 10 pro men and women), finished 18th among the championship caliber international field. His time was 1:51:24.

Despite claiming to "blow up" during the run (86 degrees and humid), McCoy enjoyed a breakout effort. Placing 8th among the amateur women, a field that included the winningest triathlete of all time, Michelllie Jones, 45, who opted not to renew her pro license, and several women who were considered for USAT AOY in 2013, plus two-time St. A's women's champ Kailand Cosgrove, the 2009 US Junior fo the Year. Bridget, who has won three local tris in her career, posted a personal best time of 2:16:14. She had the fastest amateur

women's swim split of the day, a 21:49. That's right. She outswam Michellie Jones (21:53). How cool is that! RESULTS

30th TINMAN TRIATHLON - Featuring International (1100yd-19mi-10K) and Sprint (450yd-12mi-5K) events, Saturday's race in Morris fielded approximately 90 participants. In the longer race, Bette Rowley came out on top for the third straight year. Her male counterpart was Matt Schmidgall, who placed 4th here in 2013.

The Sprint was won by a 54-year-old South Dakotan named Craig Harrison, and St. Paul's Tess Cotter. According to her FB page, Tess has almost 900 "Friends" and has done the "Zombie Pub Crawl," which we think is very cool. She is one of the jumping girls in the photo (R), but we don't know which one is her. RESULTS

CAPE TOWN WORLD TRIATHLON - St. Paul resident, Gwen Jorgenson, who is totally America's top draft legal female racer, placed 3rd last Sunday in Cape Town, South Africa.
