My race started as planned and I was able to nab the female swim prime. Heading out on the bike I felt really good; the roads down there are so smooth! Unfortunately at mile 10 something felt wrong on my bike and looked down to discover I had flatted by back tire. I asked another racer if he had a change kit, but no luck. Since the ride was pretty flat and smooth I decided to just keep riding, give up on the bike prime, and hope I could roll up anyone who passed me on the bike when I hit the run. At 15 miles I was passed by one woman so I knew I would have some work to do. Luckily I was able to keep some contact with the woman leader and could see her on the run out while I was biking in. The run course is super curvy and hilly so the first mile was a little nerve wracking hoping to see my competition around every corner. Just after mile 1 I was able to retake the lead and go on to the overall. My
