Watches & Roses...

LIFE TIME TRI - MINNEAPOLIS - Our state's largest, grandest and most talent-rich triathlon will celebrate it's 15th anniversary on July 9.

We Googled "15th Anniversary" and learned that, we're not making this up, that you have to give people who have been together for a decade-and-a-half a new watch. In the old days, i.e. the 20th century, you were supposed to give crystal, but modern times call for modern gifts.

So you know, race founder Bahram Akradi has a lot of watches, so you can instead give him the official gemstone of the 15th Anniversary: Rubies....

Historical Stuff About G-Man...

GRANITEMAN CLEARWATER PREVIEW - The Graniteman, a popular sprint triathlon, was launched in Rockville back in 2004, where it remained until 2009. In 2010, it relocated to its current venue in Clearwater, which makes it more accessible to athletes from The Cities. In 2015, it added a Olympic distance race.

The popularity of Graniteman Clearwater convinced organizers to create a Series, which originally included G-Man races in St. Cloud, and a terrific venue in Big Lake. The St. Cloud race was short-lived due to inherent logistical and political issues. It was replaced by the iconic Buffalo Triathlon, which is now produced under the Graniteman umbrella.

The 2016 Graniteman Clearwater events will take place on July 10, and registration is open. It expects to serve between 350 and 400 athletes this year....

Minnesota's Original Destination Triathlon...

TIMBERMAN XXXII - Minnesota's original Destination Triathlon will celebrate its 32nd anniversary on July 9. If you're not registered yet, we encourage you to do so at your earliest opportunity. This event is truly special.

BELIEVE! That is a word as a coach I preach to my athletes and to myself. Believe in your training, believe in your ability, and believe you are strong enough to accomplish whatever goals you set for yourself....

When the airhorns sound at 8 a.m. on Sunday, June 19 at Foster-Arend Park, it’s not because you’re about to hear a reggaeton banger or experience a tornado, it’s because the Rochesterfest Triathlon, presented by Toyota and organized by Final Stretch, is going down.

Competitors in this time-honored Rochesterfest race will compete in one of two classes – sprint or Olympic. The sprint course consists of a quarter-mile swim, a 10-mile bike and ...
