WINGMAN - On Sunday, masters star CHAP ACHEN, 47, won this event for the fourth time, outdistancing his closest rival, talented teen GARRETT WELSCH, by 3:08. MORGAN BAKER won the women's competition. The event celebrated its 8th anniversary. RESULTS

STEELEHEAD 70.3 - MTN congratulates Lino Lakes' DIANE HANKEE (photo L) and Chanhassen's ANGELA KIDD for placing 3rd and 4th overall in the women's 70.3 in Benton Harbor, Michigan this morning. Diane's time was 4:41:36; Angela's was 4:42:40. RESULTS

YWCA WOMEN'S TRI - As in 2015, HEATHER LENDWAY (pro winner), CHRISTINA ROBERTS (amateur winner) and LISA LENDWAY comprised the overall podium this morning at this annual classic. 855 women finished the race. RESULTS

Rookie of the Year collected her 2nd victory of the season--2nd in eight days!--this morning at North Mankato. Sharing the podium with her were fellow masters GRETCHEN SADAKA, 46 and CHERYL JOHNSON, 44.

RYAN GUSTAFSON won the men's race.

Despite the fact that it was staged on the busiest racing weekend of the year --six Minnesota triathlons, plus the National Championships--the NMT boasted 189 adult and 47 kid finishers.  RESULTS

GREEN LAKE SPRINT TRIATHLON - A gimpy LARRY HOSCH won the men's title--his 4th career W--at 13th edition of the GL Sprint, sharing the Winners Circle with repeat champ JEN NEUMAN, 46, who with her victory last weekend at Graniteman Big Lake Sprint, now has 10 career wins.   187 athletes finished the race. RESULTS

GREEN LAKE OLYMPIC-ISH (.75 - 21.3 - 6) - Late registrant / likely Most Improved nominee JORDAN ROBY (photo R with girlfriend Christina Roberts, the amateur champ at YWCA Women's Tri) held off 2013 winner / lapsed triathlete / bike racer JOHN HEINLEIN III for the victory in the 10th edition of this event. It was Jordan's first career tri win, and 2nd multisport victory of his career.

As expected, Montevideo's SHEENA DAUER collected her 3rd consecutive win here. It was also Dauer's 3rd win of the 2016 season. RESULTS
