MINNESOTA MULTISPORT HONORS - Here are the four nominees, and their 2019 highlights, for MINNESOTA MALE MASTER OF THE YEAR:

DAN ARLANDSON, 53, BURNSVILLE (photo L)

- 1st Master / 3rd overall amateur / 10th w/ pros at Ironman Wisconsin - 9:20:31

- 1st Master / 5th overall @ Chisago Lakes Half IM - 4:20:39

- 13th overall / 3rd AG @ Ironman 70.3 Madison - 4:28:09

COMMENT:  A long distance specialist, Dan's resume is a bit thin, and his effort at Madison 70.3 was marginally competitive. But his performances at IMOO and Chisago were truly outstanding. In fact, his IM Wisconsin effort was arguably the Performance of the Year by a Minnesota male master....

- 1st overall @ Buffalo Sprint

- 2nd overall / 1stt Master @ Square Lake Sprint

- 5th overall / 3rd Maser @ Gear West Du (Behhind fellow MOY nominees Brooks Grossinger and Andy Wiberg)

- 7th overall / 1st Master @ Lake Minnetonka

- 7th overall / 2nd Master @ Heart of the Lakes (Behind Kevin O'Connor)

- 7th overall / 2nd Master at Apple Duathlon (Behind Brooks Grossinger)

- 8th overall / 1st AG @ Maple Grove Olympic

- 9th overall / 2nd Master @ Minneapolis Triathlon (Thad Ingersoll)

COMMENT: The Committee likes MIke's consistency, and were impressed with his overall win at Buffalo Sprint. 

BROOKS GROSSINGER, 42, Mayer (photo L)

- 1st overall @ Timberman Sprint - 52:52!

- 1st overall @ Northwoods

- 2nd overall / 1st Master @ Xterra Sleeping Giant  (Thunder Bay, ONT)

- 2nd overall / 1st Master @ Gear West Duathlon

- 2nd overall / 2nd Master @ Battle of Waterlo (MI) (10-legs / 42 total miles)

- 4th overall / 1st Master @ Apple Duathlon

COMMENT: A terrific resume.

ANDY WIBERG, 41, Eden Prairie (photo R)

- 2nd / 1st Master @ Chisago Sprint

- 4th / 2nd Master @ Gear West Duathlon (Behind Brooks Grossinger)

- 7th / 1st Master @ Maple Grove Olympic
