ANOTHER BIG 70.3 WIN FOR DANI V!

TEXAS 70.3 - Rochester's DANI VSETECKA continues to demonstrate that she is one of the premier amateur long distance triathletes in our hemisphere.

Hemisphere?

Yes. Today in muggy Galveston, Texas, Dani battled decorated Canadian Janine Willis for the amateur title at Texas 70.3. Now 45, but showing no signs of slowing down, Willis is a two time 70.3 AG champion and former Kona podiumer. She also managed to lower Jan Guenther's masters record at Ironman Wisconsin in 2017.

Arguably, her record in 70.3 events puts her atop of women's amateur heap in Canada...

But Dani outraced her this morning, and by doing so, collected her 5th half IM victory in only nine starts at that distance. The course appeared to have been a tad short as the finishing times were super fast. Dani V's winning time was 4:23:56, which gave her almost a two minute edge over Willis.

The victory doubtlessly avenged her DNF in her last 70.3 effort in Waco, Texas, where she was competing with a painful foot injury.

Vsetecka isn't the only Minnesotan to rock a 70.3 win this season. Masters star DIANE HANKEE won the Florida Challenge last month.
