YWCA WOMEN'S TRIATHLON - In an earlier post, we erroneously said that this race would celebrate its 10th anniversary on Sunday. It will actually celebrate its 11th birthday. Our apologies to the race organizers.
Recently a guy asked us to post the past champions of the YWCA Women's Tri. We are happy to provide that information..
You'll note that four women have won this storied race three times (photos).

Baker Park Course in 2008 and 2009 - Same basic distances as the Lake Nokomis course. The race left Baker because it outgrew the venue.

EXCITING STUFF! - Four-time Ironman winner, LEANDA CAVE, the only woman to win the 70.3 and IM World Championships in the same year (2012), will appear at several race-related events on Saturday and Sunday:
- August 11: YWCA's Race Expo on August 11 from 11:30 am - 12:30 pm at YWCA Midtown
- August 11: Leanda Cave + Team LC Community Swim Clinic from 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm at YWCA Uptown
- August 11: Outdoor Leanda Cave Triathlon Swim Clinic from 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm at Lake Nokomis
- August 11: Bike Clinic + Ride with Team LC and Velofix from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm at Lake Nokomis
- August 12: On the day of YWCA Women's Triathlon (August 12) from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at Lake Nokomis
