OAKDALE SPRING CLASSIC DU PREVIEW -

- 2023 Date - Sunday, May 28

- Age - 19 years

- Venue - Lake Elmo Park Reserve. (Comment: Lake Elmo Park is a premier run-bike-run venue!) ...

- Expected Turnout - Approximately 100 athletes. (Comment: A pandemic and a governing body that doesn't give a shit has all but killed this sport. It's up to us on a local and regional level to support the remaining races with the intent of growing them and introducing new events.)

- Why do this race? -  Lots of reasons: outstanding venue, its social vibe - a place to make new friends, a great rust-knocker-offer before the outdoor tri season gets underway. Uncle Randy will be timing the event.

- Expected Weather - Awesome according to weather.com.Partly cloudy skies, light winds, with morning temps in high 50s / low 60s.

- The Return of Sean Cooley - Like so many multisporters, Sean fled into seasonal single sport racing after the 2019 tri season. The fear was that the former Minnesota Triathlete of the Year would not return. Well, he's selected the Oakdale Du as his first race back, and we expect him to throw down a major performance. Sean's running has improved over the last three-plus years, as his road race (and two Boston Marathon appearances) attest. We hope that his enrollment will entice fellow elites to make the trek to Lake Elmo Park this weekend.

- The Good News - You can still get in. - WEBSITE
